“We are pleased to introduce Popstar!’s 3 million digital users to Music Choice Popstar! TV Network and the Music Choice app. “Tweens,” ages 7-16, are one of the most media and digital savvy audiences today,” said Vincent Anelle, CEO, Varick Digital Entertainment Group, “Our partnership with Music Choice will expand both companies’ audiences and fully engage this key demographic in the touch points that are most meaningful to them.” Anelle also gives validity to the power of this audience by quoting the source Tweens ‘R Shoppers, The Global Association for Marketing at Retail, “Tweens will spend an estimated $43 billion of their own allowance and gift money in the marketplace this year, and influence an additional $150 billion of their parents’ spending.” Varick Digital Entertainment has the digital, television, licensing and merchandising rights to Popstar! and provides editorial, co-branding and advertising in the magazine.
Popstar! and Music Choice will also partner in grassroots marketing events throughout the US in 2016. A national search for Popstar! hosts is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2016 and will seek contestants 13-16 years of age who can address everything “tween” in fashion, movies, music and culture. The contest to discover these exceptional talents and personalities is in the final planning stages and will be as exciting and captivating as other national TV talent searches.
